When I log in, it says "Subscription not activated" but I just paid

Subtitled "When I try to download a video, it tells me that I need to buy a subscription. I already have a subscription!"

First off, we're sorry. We hate it when that happens because it means that we've unnecessarily confused an otherwise easy process. Sorry!

99 times out of 100, we can help you right here, right now by just following the question/answer on this page. At the bottom of the page is where the contact info is in case we don't answer what you need on this page.
  1. Most likely when someone writes to us asking why they are being asked to subscribe even though they already have a subscription, the problem is that they are logging into the wrong website.
    • The key point is that, in order to download videos, you must log into the website(s) that you subscribed to.
    • If you subscribed to LearnSqlServer.com but are trying to download videos on LearnSqlServer2005.com, you will receive an error. You must log into LearnSqlServer.com to download your videos.
    • "How can I tell which websites I have a subscription to?" - visit the My Account page and click the tab for "My Subscriptions"
      My Account
  2. Sometimes PayPal is the problem - silly PayPal will periodically decide that you are paying by e-Check. e-Checks can take up to 10 days to clear. And PayPal will not notify us of payment until your payment clears. Don't worry about this - we will send you an email instantly if PayPal has done this to your payment and you'll have the chance to change it. If you are concerned about this, check your email for an email from us! This is probably not the problem though; bullet number 1 above is the issue 99 times out of 100...
  3. Sometimes Google Checkout is the problem - Google Checkout is the goofiest of them all. Did you know that, if you pay by Google Checkout, your funds are held for 15 minutes? And there's nothing you can do about it (and nothing we can do about it). Sorry - that's the beast that is Google... Another issue is that Google Checkout orders are manually processed. If you place an order at 12:30AM USA Central Time, we aren't awake yet. Scott is a morning person though...
If you need to talk to us, we're here:
  • Send us an email
  • Call us at +1 (866) 611-1242 (USA Central Time business hours)
We'll be happy to help!
